Same-Day CEREC® Crowns Provide Efficient Tooth Restoration On W. 130th St.
CEREC® technology utilizes CAD/CAM (Computer-Aided Design and Manufacturing) to design and mill custom ceramic crowns in a single dental visit. This system eliminates the need for messy putty impressions, uncomfortable temporary crowns, and multiple trips to the office. Patients at Innovative Smiles can have a damaged tooth fully restored to health in approximately two hours.
Traditional crown procedures require at least two appointments and a two-week waiting period while a lab fabricates the restoration. Dr. Butler utilizes the CEREC® Primemill to streamline this process. After the tooth is prepared, an intraoral scanner captures a 3D image that is sent to our on-site milling unit. This unit carves the crown from a solid block of high-quality ceramic that matches the strength and translucency of natural enamel.
The clinical advantage of a same-day crown goes beyond convenience. Because the final restoration is bonded immediately, the sensitive underlying tooth structure is never exposed to the bacteria or temperature changes that can occur with a temporary crown. This results in less post-operative sensitivity and a much more durable bond. Our Middleburg Heights patients leave our office with a permanent, beautiful restoration that is ready for immediate use.
